4 January 2021 – On behalf of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), we would like to express our gratitude to former Director General Eric Domingo for his dedicated service during his tenure as head of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Many FDA process reforms were implemented during his tenure as FDA chief, benefiting many Filipinos and contributing to the country’s ease of doing business.

Among these reforms are streamlining the requirements and processes for initial and renewal applications for a License to Operate, as well as automating processes, including the integration of FDA eServices into the Central Business Portal (CBP). These undoubtedly benefit the Filipino people by ensuring that they have access to the necessary pharmaceutical products.

Likewise, the FDA, during Dr. Domingo’s leadership, has been instrumental in the establishment of the green lane for local vaccine manufacturers, which has significant impact on our fellow Filipinos, especially given that we are still in the midst of a pandemic.

Again, we thank Dr. Domingo for his service to the country. We hope his successor will continue to push for streamlining, reengineering, and efficiency of FDA, a very important agency in the Philippine government.
