
13 November 2022 – Undersecretary Ernesto V. Perez, Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), assured that the agency will continue to perform its mandate with much more vigor, given the expression of support from the Office of the President and the business community.
This, after a no-holds barred discussion on the government’s policy on anti-red tape and ease of doing business with ARTA, Executive Secretary and retired Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin, and top business leaders Philippine Exporters Federation (PhilExport) President Sergio Ortiz- Luis, Jr. and
Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Chairman Dr. William Co. ES Bersamin assured the top business leaders of an open line of communication which will promptly address any issue or concern brought to his attention.

Also present were PhilExport Corporate Secretary and Bataan Freeport Chairman Pablo Gancayco and Council for Overseas Filipinos Undersecretary and concurrent PCCI board member, Abdulgani Macatoman.
The Executive Secretary then directed ARTA OIC Perez to exhaust all efforts to cut red tape in the country and the filing of necessary charges against erring officials. This, for the people to feel the government’s drive to deliver more efficient services.
ARTA is an attached agency of the Office of the President (OP) to which the Office of the Executive Secretary directly supervises.
In turn, the business leaders assured ES Bersamin that their organizations have always supported the administration’s programs. More so, on its streamlining and digitalization initiatives of government services in which ARTA played a big role in.

The organizations, likewise, expressed full confidence in the leadership of OIC Perez.
Perez served as the keynote speaker during the PhilExport’s 30th anniversary celebration where he shared the various streamlining and digitalization programs and initiatives of ARTA in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
He also served as one of the main speakers during the PCCI’s 48th Philippine Business Conference and Expo.
