1 December 2020 – The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) last week apprised the local government officials of Western Samar of the mandates and functions of the Authority and urged them to effectively implement and comply with R.A. 11032 – the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 – during the launching of the Philippine Moral Transformation at Catbalogan and Calbayog City.
Director General Jeremiah Belgica served as the guest speaker for the launch of the program, an initiative of the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Religious Affairs, last Thursday. Also part of the event were representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Health, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and the Philippine National Police.
On the following day, November 27, Director Belgica paid a courtesy visit to Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez and conducted a surprise inspection of the city government’s Business One-Stop Shop, one of the services offered by the city government through the Business Permits and Licensing Division in compliance to R.A. 11032.
“Ang tren ng reporma ay umiikot sa iba’t-ibang mga rehiyon sa bansa upang palakasin ang ating kampanya kontra red-tape. Nais nating mapagtibay ang presenya ng Anti-Red Tape Authority at maihatid ang reporma ng Ease of Doing Business Law para sa ating mga kababayan”, said Director General Belgica.
The ARTA chief also met with the Department of Trade and Industry – Tacloban Regional Director Celerina Bato to discuss the deputizing of the regional personnel of the office to perform the powers and functions of ARTA which is in accordance with the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the law.
